WordPress 3.8 从其发布的 Beta 1 版本可以看出，WordPress 后台进行了全新的设计，同时也将类似 MP6、Omnisearch、THX38 等功能插件集成到核心代码中（点击查看详情），按照 WordPress 3.8  项目开发计划，WordPress 3.8 正式版将在12月12日发布。

July 27, 2013WordPress 3.8 announced as in development concurrently with WordPress 3.7
July 28, 2013Kick-off at WordCamp San Francisco Hack Day.
August 7, 2013Initial meeting to scope out the release. See here and here.
August 15, 2013Feature Plugins kick off. See here and here.
November 4, 2013Merge window opens.
November 13, 2013Merge window closes.
November 20, 2013Beta 1.
From this point on, no more commits for any new enhancements or feature requests in this release cycle, only bug fixes and inline documentation. Any enhancements/feature requests not completed and committed by this point can be resumed in just a few weeks at the start of WordPress 3.9.
November 27, 2013Beta 2.
December 5Hard freeze.
December 12Target date for release of WordPress 3.8.
